Wow. I come back from lunch to check my Google Analytics and am greeted with a new link to click to view my stats - something about Beta. I click it. And wow. This new interface is fancy. Check it out:
I’ll need to spend some time with the new stuff to properly assess how awesome it is, but so far, so good. It looks cleaner, gives me a lot more information right off the bat, and features movable widgets, which I imagine are also customizable.
UPDATE: As I was typing this, something freaky happened - I clicked a link to view visitor stats, and was taken to the Google Analytics sign-up page. I went back to google.com/analytics, and upon signing in, lost all of the fancy stuff. It’s all back to normal.
Weird. Maybe getting access to the new interface was a mistake. It looks awesome, though - I can’t wait until it does replace the original.
UPDATE2: Okay, now it’s back again! What’s going on?
UPDATE3: Google says,
Your new reports have been designed to help you learn even more about your site traffic and marketing initiatives. And here’s the FAQ.The redesigned interface is now the default view. To access it, click "View Reports." We think you'll love the new Google Analytics, however, you can still access the previous reporting interface. To do so, click "Previous Interface" below the "View Reports" link for any profile in your account. Note that your data and configuration settings remain unaffected regardless of which interface you use and your data continues to be tracked in the same way as it was prior to the redesign.
Google Analytics has many new features. Read our blog post, read the FAQs or watch the flash tour to learn more. If you have difficulty finding specific reports in the new interface, you may find the report finder tool to be helpful.
It seems part of the point of the redesign is to make it easier to share your stats. Awesome. Can’t wait to do a full run-through of the new features.
